Secretary of Treasury

I climbed up the Student council ladder the following year - The Executive Cabinet. Since I was part of the finance committee as a CR, I stood for the position of Secretary of Treasury (SoT), alongside 3 other students. I then passed a vigorous selection interview and eventually got elected with 78% votes of senate (highest votes among the 4 candidates, thanks to my last minute canvass video: https://aru-for-sot.webflow.io/).

My role as SOT was to oversee budget allocation for clubs and societies - both departmental and cultural from a fund of 15-20 Lakhs and ensuring ethical handling of money. I also had to ledger all the finances and mediate between the students and the Finance Department of Shiv Nadar Foundation for fees related queries. There have been so many changes in my tenure that aimed to make the life of clubs and students easier. I laid the foundation for many processes that are still being followed now. It was a extremely difficult job to pull, especially during the summer when I had to talk with so many parents to clarify their fee related doubts. I felt like I was doing a paid job literally, but in the end I think I learnt to balance my work and studies and research.
